The approved projects aim to strengthen infrastructure in the Simhastha region, with a special emphasis on smooth traffic management, safe movement of devotees, and improved city connectivity. Key projects include:
- Six-lane expansion of Indore-Ujjain route – Estimated cost: ₹1,164 crore
- Indore-Ujjain Greenfield Highway – Estimated cost: ₹1,370 crore
- Ujjain Bypass Development – Estimated cost: ₹701 crore
Once completed, these projects will facilitate the movement of lakhs of devotees during the festival and significantly reduce traffic congestion.
Budget 2026-27 to Accelerate Construction
The government has proposed ₹3,060 crore in the 2026-27 budget to ensure timely completion of these infrastructure projects. The initiative is part of a broader plan to provide pilgrims, both domestic and international, with a seamless experience through better road networks, organized entry and exit points, and safe transit facilities.
