The initiative aims to make daily travel easier for residents and strengthen connectivity across major routes, including the upcoming Jewar International Airport.
The proposal has received approval under the initiative of Noida Authority CEO Krishna Karunesh, according to Zee News. During a recent meeting, officials from the Noida Authority and the Uttar Pradesh Transport Corporation finalised the operational framework for the city bus service. As per the plan, the 50 electric buses will be deployed on five major routes, with 10 buses operating on each route.
All the buses will belong to the Uttar Pradesh Transport Corporation, which will also manage their operations. However, if there is any gap between ticket revenue and operational costs, the Noida Authority will cover the deficit. Officials said a joint survey by teams from both departments will be conducted on Thursday to finalise routes, bus stops and depot arrangements.
Five routes have been proposed to make travel convenient for passengers. The first route will run from the Sector-90 bus depot to Jewar Airport via Botanical Garden. The second route will connect Botanical Garden to Pari Chowk in Greater Noida. The third route will start from Sector-90 and travel through Botanical Garden and Sector-71 crossing to reach Greater Noida West.
The fourth route will operate from Sector-62 Model Town through Vishwakarma Road and the Seven X sectors to reach Sectors 98 and 96. The fifth route will run from Sector-15 on DSC Road through Bhangel Elevated Road and Phase-2 Industrial Area up to Surajpur.
