Noida is celebrating its 50th Foundation Day today. Let us explore the upcoming real estate projects and infrastructure developments taking shape in the region—uncovering the complete story, ranging from the Noida Elevated Road to its various expressways.
Noida turns 50 today. Gautam Buddha Nagar is celebrating the Golden Jubilee of its inception. Building upon connectivity initiatives such as the DND Flyway and the Noida Metro, new jewels—such as the Noida Airport and the Greater Noida Film City—are now further enhancing the city’s luster. Noida is on its way to becoming not only a major IT hub in North India but also a prominent manufacturing hub. The city is also soon set to acquire its own world-class railway station at Bodaki. Furthermore, alongside the development of the Chilla Elevated Road, the Noida Metro network is also undergoing expansion.
- Namo Bharat Train (RRTS) Corridor
Within a few years, the Namo Bharat Train—also known as the Rapid Rail—will be seen running through Noida. Regarding the Gurugram-Faridabad-Noida corridor, the Haryana government has approved the final alignment for this 64-km-long route. This corridor will commence at IFFCO Chowk in Gurugram and, passing through Faridabad, will connect Noida and Greater Noida.
2.Ghaziabad-Jewar Airport Link
This corridor will originate at the Rapid Rail station in Ghaziabad and, traversing through Greater Noida, will proceed directly to the Noida International Airport (NIA). This will provide high-speed connectivity between Delhi, Meerut, and Noida. Consequently, the Noida Airport will be linked via high-speed rail to all major cities within the Delhi-NCR region.
3. Jewar-Faridabad Expressway
Following the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, this 31-km-long expressway will directly connect the Noida International Airport to Faridabad (Ballabhgarh) in Haryana. It will serve as a feeder route for the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway.
4. Alternative to the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway
In view of the increasing traffic on the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, plans are underway to construct a 31-km-long, 6-lane elevated road running along the Yamuna Pushta (embankment). This road will begin at Sector 94—specifically the Okhla Barrage—and extend up to the Yamuna Expressway (Gulistapur-Gharbara).
5. Chilla Elevated Road and Flyover
Plans are being formulated to facilitate direct, high-speed traffic flow from Mayur Vihar in Delhi to the Mahamaya Flyover in Noida via the Chilla Elevated Road. This initiative will ensure that commuters traveling from Delhi to Noida no longer have to contend with traffic congestion around the DND, Sector 14A, or Film City areas.
6. Noida Metro Expansion
The metro project connecting Sector 142 to Botanical Garden has received approval. Its track will consist of an 11.56 km long elevated corridor. It will feature 8 stations—Sector 142, Noida Sector 93, Panchsheel Balak Inter College, Noida Sector 108, Noida Sector 97, Noida Office, and Noida Sector 44—which will connect to Botanical Garden. This line will directly link the Aqua Line with the Delhi Metro’s Blue and Magenta Lines. The 7.5 km long Greater Noida West Metro project has also been given the green signal. It will comprise five stations connecting Sector 61, Sector 70, Sector 122, Sector 123, and Kisan Chowk (Sector 4). This project is estimated to cost ₹1,050 crore.
7. Noida International Airport (NIA)
The first phase of the Noida Airport commenced on March 28. Preparations for both domestic and international flight operations are proceeding at a rapid pace. “Yamuna City” is being established in the vicinity of Jewar. YEIDA is currently preparing to develop several residential clusters in this area.
8. Greater Noida Film City
Work has begun on the International Film City project located in Sector-21 of Greater Noida (under YEIDA). The complex will feature studios, a 5-star hotel, and various film sets designed to replicate diverse landscapes—ranging from the scenic valleys of Switzerland to dense forests. There are also plans to introduce a Pod Taxi service within the facility. Additionally, a “Japanese City” and a “Singapore City” are set to be developed across a 500-acre area in Sectors 5A and 7 of Greater Noida.
9. Bodaki Railway Station
A logistics and transport hub is being developed at Bodaki, near Dadri, to serve as a multi-modal logistics hub. This facility is poised to become a major center for both freight movement and public transportation. There are also plans to develop a passenger railway station at this location.
10. Preparations for Establishing “New Noida City”
Preparations are underway to establish a “New Noida City” within the designated Dadri-Noida-Ghaziabad Investment Region (DNGIR). New Noida is slated to be developed on land acquired from 80 villages spanning across the Gautam Buddha Nagar and Bulandshahr districts. According to Master Plan 2041, New Noida will span an area of 21,000 hectares.
