Under the plan, the embankment road along the Yamuna River, to curb rapidly increasing traffic on the existing Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, will be widened and developed into a 10-lane bypass.
New expressway to start from…; check route
This new expressway will reportedly begin from Sector 94 and will run up to Greater Noida’s Gharbara village, further connecting Pari Chowk and Knowledge Park.
How much will the project cost?
Currently, the road is four lanes wide and will be upgraded to 6 lanes and later up to 10 lanes. The project, to be built at an estimated cost of approximately Rs 4,300 crore, has nearly Rs 1,400 crore designated solely for land acquisition.
Delhi-NCR to Jewar Airport in minutes
This new high-speed planned corridor is likely to become the fastest route between Delhi and Jewar Airport. According to reports, the project will be integrated with the 5.9-km-long Chilla Elevated Road corridor, being built from Mayur Vihar to Mahamaya Flyover. It is expected to be completed by December 2027.
What will be the total length of the new expressway?
Furthermore, a 1.4-km elevated link road from Mahamaya to Okhla Bird Sanctuary Metro Station will enable traffic from the national capital to directly reach the embankment road without entering the expressway. The total length of the stretch is said to be approximately 31.437 kilometers. Surveys are underway, while a Detailed Project Report (DPR) is being prepared.
