Gujarat’s textile hub Surat secured its first-ever Vande Bharat Express service with the Railway Board’s approval of a new semi-high-speed connection to Udaipur City in Rajasthan.
The approved service, numbered 26903/26904, will cover approximately 690 kilometres in seven hours and 30 minutes, operating six days weekly except Tuesdays.
Train 26903 will depart Surat at 6.10am, reaching Udaipur City at 1.40pm, while the return service will leave Udaipur at 3.35pm, arriving in Surat at 11.00pm.
The eight-coach train will make nine commercial stops including Bharuch, Vadodara, Anand, Maninagar, Asarva, Himmatnagar, Shamlaji Road, Dungarpur and Zawar, connecting multiple towns across both states.
The new route will replace the existing Udaipur City-Asarva Vande Bharat Express, which has operated since February 2026.
