Major UCF Development: Telangana Opens a New Climate Finance Pathway
A significant development has emerged in India’s Urban Challenge Fund (UCF) ecosystem. The Government of Telangana has secured preliminary clearance to pursue ₹5,000 crore in German development finance as part of the ₹7,143 crore Telangana Climate Resilient Urban Transformation Initiative (CRUTI).
What makes this important is the proposed convergence of international climate finance with UCF, AMRUT 2.0 and Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) 2.0, creating a new model for financing large-scale, climate-resilient urban infrastructure.
