Madhya Pradesh has attracted investment proposals worth more than Rs 15,425 crore across semiconductors, electronics manufacturing and other high-technology sectors, with the projects expected to generate over 14,450 jobs.
The proposals were announced at a two-day semiconductor summit that concluded in Indore on Saturday (24 October), as the state seeks to expand its role in India’s electronics and chip manufacturing ecosystem.
The summit drew more than 1,000 delegates, including representatives from Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and Sweden.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said on Friday that 12 investors had expressed interest in committing Rs 5,800 crore during one-to-one meetings at the event. These proposed projects are expected to create more than 10,000 jobs.
Separately, five companies received land allotment letters for projects involving investments of Rs 9,625 crore.
The projects are expected to generate more than 4,450 direct jobs across Bhopal, Indore and Gwalior. They include a 50-megawatt hyperscale data centre in Gwalior, lithium-cell manufacturing units and electronics facilities.
The state government also signed memorandums of understanding with five institutions to strengthen workforce training, chip design and research collaboration.
Madhya Pradesh plans to establish a Semiconductor Centre of Excellence to support chip design, very-large-scale integration (VLSI), research, innovation and prototyping. The initiative is intended to build technical capabilities and support the development of the state’s semiconductor ecosystem.
The state introduced its semiconductor policy in 2025. Under the policy, eligible projects can receive incentives equivalent to 25 per cent of capital expenditure or 50 per cent of central government incentives, whichever is lower.
The summit featured eight panel discussions, five roundtable sessions and six keynote addresses, alongside consultations on the Madhya Pradesh Semiconductor Policy and the MP Semicon Startup Challenge.
