Noida-Jewar Airport Expressway Plan Gets Bigger with 10 Lanes
Earlier, the idea was to build either a 6-lane elevated road or an 8-lane road on the ground along the Yamuna embankment. But now, the plan has been upgraded.
Officials are exploring a 10-lane elevated expressway starting near the DND Flyway, supported by pillars along the Yamuna stretch. This route is expected to directly connect Delhi-side traffic to the Yamuna region and further towards the airport.

Survey and DPR Work Already Started
A ground inspection has already been done by technical experts and consultants. They are now working on:
-
Traffic study (especially from Delhi side)
-
Feasibility of building pillars along Yamuna
-
Environmental and clearance aspects
The detailed project report (DPR) is expected in a few months. Based on this, the final decision will be taken.
Officials have also suggested adding service roads on both sides, so local residents and daily commuters can also use this route, not just airport traffic.
Yamuna Pillar-Based Road May Be Easier to Build
One interesting update is that the irrigation department has advised building the road on pillars instead of the embankment.
