The Delhi–Ghaziabad–Meerut Namo Bharat RRTS has achieved a remarkable milestone by recording its highest-ever single-day ridership of 1.25 lakh commuters.
More than just a transport project, Namo Bharat is transforming regional mobility, reducing travel time between Delhi and Meerut to less than an hour, creating new economic opportunities, supporting sustainable urban growth, and
integrating the NCR into a truly connected regional economy.
For me, this achievement carries special significance. During my tenure as Joint Director (Finance), NCR Planning Board (NCRPB), I had the privilege of being part of the team that initially conceived and supported the development of this visionary project. It is immensely gratifying to see that vision translate into a world-class infrastructure asset serving over a lakh commuters every day.
This project demonstrates what is possible when long-term planning, institutional collaboration, innovative financing, and political commitment come together.
Congratulations to NCRTC, the Governments of India, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and all stakeholders who contributed to making this transformational project a reality.
