JAMMU, Aug 10: Prabhakar Jha, Chief General Manager today taken over the charge as Regional Director of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for the Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) and Ladakh Union Territories.
Before joining RBI Jammu, he was the Regional Director of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for Panaji office in Goa.
He regularly represents the Central Bank at high-level financial and administrative events in Goa.
For instance, Jha recently attended the 128th State Level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC) meeting in Goa alongside state officials to push forward financial inclusion initiatives.
He joined the RBI in 1998.
Jha holds an educational background from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University, alongside an MBA.
His core areas of expertise span bank supervision, foreign exchange, and currency management.
Chandrashekhar Azad, former Regional Director for the Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) and Ladakh Union Territories have been transferred to RBI Central Office, Mumbai.
