Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project is progressing steadily with significant gains recorded across viaducts, track infrastructure, electrification, bridges and tunnels, according to the latest progress update released by National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL).
The NHSRCL is the implementing agency for the 508-km Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed rail corridor, which is the first bullet train project in India.
According to the agency’s July progress update, pier work has been completed over 453 km and viaduct construction has been undertaken over 359 km.
Meanwhile, Reinforced concrete (RC) track bed construction has been completed over 215 km, while 91 km track slabs have been laid with Cement Asphalt Mortar (CAM) injection completed.
The electrification infrastructure has also expanded with over 9,000 Overhead Equipment (OHE) masts installed across 200 km of the bullet train corridor, according to the update.
