*ADB Deepens Support for India’s Urban Challenge Fund*
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is strengthening its partnership with the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (MoHUA) to accelerate implementation of the Urban Challenge Fund (UCF) through a US$2 million Technical Assistance Programme.
The initiative will help Indian cities develop bankable projects, improve municipal creditworthiness, mobilise private investment and climate finance, strengthen PPP structuring, and build institutional capacity.
This marks an important shift in the UCF journey—from policy formulation to implementation, investment readiness and financial closure.
Adisri Infradesk Insight:
The next phase of UCF will be driven by bankable project preparation, innovative financing, climate finance and transaction advisory, creating significant opportunities for governments, ULBs, development agencies and the private sector.
