Uttar Pradesh’s Bundelkhand region has attracted investment proposals worth more than Rs 80,000 crore across sectors such as energy, data centres, infrastructure and tourism.

The proposals cover 90 projects, including several with investments exceeding Rs 1,000 crore. These projects are expected to be taken forward at a groundbreaking ceremony planned for December 2026.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to inaugurate the fifth edition of the event in Lucknow.

The 296 km Bundelkhand Expressway, the Bundelkhand Industrial Development Authority and the Defence Industrial Corridor nodes at Jhansi and Chitrakoot have played a key role in attracting investment to the region.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to ensure that project approvals are completed within stipulated timelines to speed up implementation. He has also called for faster disbursement of financial incentives and simpler procedures to improve the ease of doing business.

According to Business Standard report, the Bundelkhand proposals form part of approximately Rs 7.35 trillion in investment proposals attracted by Uttar Pradesh through around 7,000 projects across sectors including energy, real estate, infrastructure, information technology and electronics, data centres, food processing, steel, cement, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, textiles, automobiles and tourism.

Manufacturing accounts for Rs 2.75 trillion of the state’s project pipeline, followed by data centres at Rs 1.80 trillion. Energy and infrastructure projects account for Rs 1.5 trillion each, while real estate accounts for Rs 75,000 crore, the report stated.

Western Uttar Pradesh leads the state with investment proposals worth Rs 4.75 trillion from domestic and international investors. Eastern Uttar Pradesh has attracted proposals worth Rs 1.20 trillion, while Central Uttar Pradesh has secured Rs 80,000 crore.

The December event will be the fifth edition of the state’s Ground Breaking Ceremony. The previous four editions covered more than 16,000 projects worth over Rs 12 trillion.

More than 8,000 of these projects have started commercial operations, while the rest are at various stages of implementation.
