he Indian government is setting its sights on developing a ‘complete AI stack’ that aims to propel innovation through anonymized datasets accessible to researchers and startups, announced Union Minister Jayant Chaudhary at the AI Impact Summit.
The minister emphasized the importance of an audit trail mechanism, suggesting future institutional audits to enhance AI accountability. He highlighted the public-private partnership (PPP) model as a critical component of India’s AI push, with a focus on a human-centric approach.
Chaudhary outlined India’s strategy to prioritize openness and innovation amid debates over privacy and data sovereignty. He noted significant advances, including surpassing the target for GPUs deployed under the IndiaAI Mission, indicating transformative potential for academia-industry collaboration.
