NLC India Limited (NLCIL), Neyveli, on behalf of NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL), a subsidiary of NLCIL, has issued a tender to lease 1,500 acres of land. NLCIL plans to use this land to develop a solar project in Gujarat, and the cost of the tender document is around Rs. 20,000. It has sought bids for this project till June 23, 2026.
The scope of work includes arranging 1,500 acres of government/private land (5 acres/MW) on a leasehold basis in Gujarat for the development of solar projects. It also includes conducting topography surveys and providing site-enabling facilities for the land parcels. The bidder will be required to obtain all necessary permits, NOCs, approvals, and clearances related to the land for the development of solar projects.
Land Parcel Allocated Under The Tender
The tender also allows the acceptance of multiple land parcels, subject to certain conditions. Each land parcel must have a minimum area of 500 acres. If multiple land parcels are offered by the bidder, all parcels must have an identified motorable approach road without any obstacle or ownership claim by any individual or agency. If such access is unavailable, the necessary approach road must be constructed through the shortest possible route.
In case any Right of Way (ROW) issues arise for interconnecting the offered land parcels, the successful bidder will be responsible for resolving them. The offered land parcels must be located within a maximum radius of 50 km from the nearest GETCO pooling substation. The land must also have connectivity provisions for 132 kV and above voltage levels.
Each land parcel should support a minimum installation capacity of a 100 MW solar project and must have connectivity provision for 100 MW at the nearest GETCO substation.
Policy Guidelines For Developing Solar Projects
The bidder must also ensure compliance with the applicable state policy guidelines for the development of solar projects. The tender specifies that the land must not fall within the Great Indian Bustard (GIB) conservation zone and should be permissible for solar power project development. Additionally, the land should have a clear title and be free from encroachments, litigation, encumbrances, or disputes.
The land must be suitable for setting up a solar project. The schedule for completion of the entire scope of work, including all facilities, is nine months from the date of issuance of the Letter of Award (LoA).
