Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday (24 June) chaired the 52nd meeting of PRAGATI at Seva Teerth in New Delhi, during which he reviewed four critical infrastructure projects worth around Rs 30,000 crore spanning the road, power, industrial corridor and metro rail sectors across four states.

The projects, aimed at boosting economic growth, regional connectivity and industrial development, were assessed with focus on implementation timelines, inter-agency coordination and issue resolution.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister stressed that delays in infrastructure projects not only lead to cost escalation but also deprive citizens and industries of timely benefits.

He directed the concerned ministries and state governments to resolve pending issues in mission mode and ensure close monitoring of project implementation at the highest level.

He called for regular updating of project details, utility information, infrastructure layers and clearances on the portal to ensure real-time monitoring and improved coordination amongst agencies.

PRAGATi is an ICT-enabled multi-modal platform designed to promote proactive governance and ensure timely implementation of projects through close coordination between the Centre and state governments.

The 52nd meeting reviewed the projects with particular emphasis on speedy resolution of bottlenecks and timely completion to prevent cost overruns that have historically plagued large-scale infrastructure development in India.
