CM Samrat Choudhary on Saturday said the satellite townships being developed in the state would come up under the public private partnership (PPP) model and Rs 6.5 lakh crore would be spent on the project.Samrat was speaking at the inaugural session of the two-day orientation-cum-training programme for members of the 18th assembly of the state. The programme is being held on the premises of the Bihar Institute of Public Administration and Rural Development.According to the CM, of the proposed expenditure of Rs 6.5 lakh crore, the urban development department of the state govt would spend Rs one lakh crore, while the remaining Rs 5.5 lakh crore would come from the private sector. Praising the concept of PPP, Samrat said it was best suited for rapid development. “The private sector has its own importance,” he said.In this context, Samrat referred to the poor state of affairs at the recently built Patliputra Inter-State Bus Terminal, where 480 shops have remained unallotted despite being constructed several years ago. The PPP model properly addresses such issues, he said.
