Uttar Pradesh to lead India’s largest bioenergy gathering: UPNEDA to steer IBET Expo 2026 in partnership with IFGE

The stakeholders meeting of the India Bioenergy & Tech Expo 2026 was held in Lucknow under the Chairmanship of Sh A K Sharma, Minister, Energy & Additional Energy, Govt. of UP. The meeting reaffirmed Uttar Pradesh’s decision to lead this landmark national event, with the Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) steering the Expo in partnership with the Indian Federation of Green Energy (IFGE). Besides senior Government officials of UP, the meeting was attended by leading bioenergy companies present in UP as well as those interested in investing in the State. The major highlights of the event were shared through a presentation, and the arrangements were reviewed. The Minister urged all stakeholders to participate wholeheartedly and make the event a grand success.

The 3rd Edition of the India Bioenergy & Tech Expo (IBET Expo 2026), an International Conference and Exhibition on Bioenergy and Technologies, is being spearheaded by the Government of Uttar Pradesh through UPNEDA as the Co-Host, in partnership with the Indian Federation of Green Energy (IFGE), in association with MM ACTIV Sci-Tech Communications from 11–13 August 2026 at the India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The prestigious initiative is supported by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Ministry of Power and the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India.

With Uttar Pradesh at the helm as the driving force behind the event, the State is positioning IBET Expo 2026 as the flagship platform to showcase its leadership in India’s bioenergy and clean energy transition. UPNEDA, as the nodal agency of the Government of Uttar Pradesh, is anchoring the conference, exhibition and investor outreach, with IFGE serving as the knowledge and execution partner.

Adding significant momentum to the event, Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, has graciously consented to inaugurate IBET Expo 2026 in the presence of Sh A K Sharma, Minister, Energy & Additional Energy, Govt. of UP.

The IBET Expo 2026 is expecting the participation and presence of several distinguished national leaders, including Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport and Highways; Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas; and Pralhad Joshi, Minister of New and Renewable Energy, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Government of India, among other senior policymakers and industry leaders.

The three-day event will feature an extensive international conference under the theme “Advancing Bioenergy Solutions for a Low Carbon World”, and an exhibition covering key sectors including Compressed Biogas (CBG), Ethanol, Biodiesel, Waste-to-Energy, Bio-Mobility, Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), Marine Fuels, Green Hydrogen, Biomass Pellets and Briquettes, Carbon Markets and Green Attributes, and emerging bioenergy technologies.

Distinguished dignitaries expected to address the conference include senior representatives from the Ministry of Power, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Department of Biotechnology, Department of Food and Public Distribution, NITI Aayog, Central Electricity Authority, Commission for Air Quality Management, Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency

(IREDA), Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, and several leading industry organizations and research institutions.

IBET Expo 2026 will witness participation from an eminent lineup of policymakers, regulators, scientists, industry leaders and experts from across the bioenergy value chain. The event is expected to host 25+ Conference Sessions; 120+ National and International Speakers; 150+ Exhibitors; 1,000+ Delegates and 15,000+ Business Visitors.

IBET Expo 2026 has already received strong support from leading organizations across the bioenergy and clean energy ecosystem, including Praj Industries, Reliance Bioenergy, Ashok Leyland, Gas Lab Asia, TruAlt Bioenergy, Novonesis, TVS, Gruner, AM Green, Hero MotoCorp, IndianOil Adani Ventures, GAIL and several others expected to join in the coming months. The initiative is also supported by leading knowledge and ecosystem partners including GIZ, EY, The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), Taso Events and ChiniMandi.

As India advances towards ambitious targets for energy security, decarbonization and circular-economy development, Uttar Pradesh, through IBET Expo 2026, aims to establish the State as the country’s premier destination for collaboration, investment, innovation and policy dialogue in the bioenergy sector. The event is expected to catalyse new partnerships and accelerate the deployment of sustainable bioenergy solutions, contributing significantly to India’s vision of achieving net-zero emissions and building a low-carbon future.
