A significant implementation milestone under the Urban Challenge Fund
The Government of Andhra Pradesh has accorded in-principle approval to a ₹5,912 crore UCF Phase-II pipeline and has stipulated that participating Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) will meet their project contribution and service the debt from their own internal resources/revenues.
This marks an important early test of the UCF framework. The focus is shifting from securing project approvals to demonstrating municipal financial sustainability, repayment capacity and investment readiness. Cities will increasingly need stronger financial planning, revenue enhancement and bankable project structuring to successfully mobilise market finance under the Urban Challenge Fund ( UCF )
